Rapid-Fire Question Bank — 200 Original Questions¶
200 original, concept-based questions in 20 sets of 10, built to be drilled ten at a time — each set has its own collapsible answer key right after it, so you answer ten, check, and move on (the way a question-a-day series is consumed). These are self-authored to teach concepts, not exam dumps — dumps violate the EC-Council Candidate Agreement and get certifications revoked. They complement, and deliberately don't repeat, the 50-Q and 125-Q mocks or the per-module
practice-questions.md.
How to use¶
- Drill one set (10 Q) in ~15 minutes, then expand its answer key and score. One or two sets a day builds recall fast.
- Log misses in PROGRESS.md; re-drill the weak module with its
facts.md+flashcards.csv(import into Anki). - Coverage spans all 20 modules plus AI-driven hacking and the defender/PAM angle; sets mix topics like the real exam.
- Tactics: EXAM-STRATEGY.md · term lookups: GLOSSARY.md · timed simulation: the mocks.

Answer key — Set 1
| Q | Ans | Why | |---|---|---| | 1 | A | Diamond Model's four vertices are Adversary, Capability, Infrastructure, Victim (M01) | | 2 | C | The "R" in STRIDE is Repudiation — denying an action with no proof (M01) | | 3 | D | Strategic intel serves executives/risk; technical = IoC feeds (M01) | | 4 | C | Red team is objective-driven and tests detection/response, not breadth (M01) | | 5 | C | PCI DSS governs cardholder data; HIPAA=health, SOX=financial, GDPR=EU personal (M01) | | 6 | C | RIPE NCC covers Europe/Middle East; ARIN=N. America, APNIC=Asia-Pac (M02) | | 7 | B | SOA holds the primary NS and zone serial; NS only lists authoritative servers (M02) | | 8 | D | Maltego is the link-analysis/graphing OSINT tool (M02) | | 9 | A | `cache:` reads Google's copy — no packet to the target = passive (M02) | | 10 | C | PTR = reverse IP→hostname, leaking internal naming schemes (M02) |Set 2 — Questions 11–20¶

| Q | Ans | Why | |---|---|---| | 161 | A | Smuggling = front-end/back-end desync over CL vs TE headers; distinct from response splitting (C) and cache poisoning (D) (M13) | | 162 | C | Poisoning caches an attacker-controlled unkeyed input in a cacheable response served to others (M13) | | 163 | C | whatweb fingerprints the stack; gobuster = content discovery, Nikto = misconfig, hydra = auth brute (M13) | | 164 | C | Insecure deserialization sits under A08 Software and Data Integrity Failures (M14) | | 165 | B | Writing code into a log then LFI-including it = log poisoning, the classic LFI→RCE (M14) | | 166 | D | Concatenated header values (User-Agent/Referer/Cookie) reach the query — a common blind SQLi vector (M15) | | 167 | C | Error-based returns data in the same response = in-band; blind returns none, OOB uses a side channel (M15) | | 168 | D | `pg_sleep` is PostgreSQL's delay; MySQL=SLEEP, MSSQL=WAITFOR, Oracle=dbms_lock.sleep (M15) | | 169 | D | `-m 22000` is the modern combined WPA/PMKID mode; 1000=NTLM, 5600=NetNTLMv2, 0=MD5 (M16) | | 170 | B | PMK = PBKDF2(PSK, SSID) — the SSID is salt, so identical passphrases on different SSIDs differ (M16) |Set 18 — Questions 171–180¶
