CEH v13 — Exam Logistics¶
The verify fields were filled from EC-Council's own pages on 2026-09-09 and are dated inline. Policy and pricing change; re-check each one on the linked page before booking, and record the blueprint weights yourself.

1. Eligibility (two paths)¶
EC-Council offers two routes to sit the exam:
- Official training — Attend official CEH training (iClass, an Accredited Training Center, or approved academic partner). Training usually includes an exam voucher and removes the application step.

Self-study / challenge the exam — Without official training you must submit an Eligibility Application showing at least 2 years of work experience in information security (or equivalent), plus a non-refundable application fee, and get approved before buying a voucher.

- Verify: current application fee = USD 100, non-refundable (cert.eccouncil.org application-process page, read 2026-09-09). The approved application is valid for 3 months; the voucher bought within that window is valid for one year.
- Verify: experience-in-lieu-of-training exact wording = "two years of work experience in an Information Security role" (cert.eccouncil.org application-process page, read 2026-09-09).

- Verify: current Practical passing threshold = 60% to 85% (cut-score varies by form; CEH Practical page, read 2026-09-09). 20 challenges, 6 hours, proctored by EC-Council, delivered in the iLabs Cyber Range via the Aspen dashboard.

4. Blueprint domains (RECORD THE REAL WEIGHTS HERE)¶
Blueprint v5.0 groups the 20 modules into scored domains. Public sources disagree on the exact percentages, so download the official blueprint and fill this in:

5. Scheduling & ID¶

- Government-issued photo ID required; name must match your registration exactly.
- For online proctoring, check webcam/room/environment requirements in advance.
6. Results & retakes¶
- Knowledge exam results are shown at the test center / on completion; a score report follows in the EC-Council portal.
- Retake policy (cert.eccouncil.org exam-retake-policy page, read 2026-09-09): no waiting period before the first retake; 14 days before the third, fourth and fifth attempts; 12 months before a sixth; no more than five attempts per 12-month period; a candidate who passes may not re-sit the same exam version. EC-Council advises official hands-on training after a third failure.

7. Keeping the cert (ECE / recertification)¶
- CEH is ANSI/ISO 17024 accredited and valid for 3 years.
- Maintain it with ECE (EC-Council Continuing Education) credits — 120 credits over 3 years — plus an annual membership fee.
