Security+ Acronyms Reference¶
🔁 This is the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) acronym list. For offensive / ethical-hacking acronyms see the CEH acronyms reference; for PAM, identity & WALLIX acronyms see the WALLIX acronyms reference. The three lists overlap heavily (cryptography, protocols, governance) and are complementary, not duplicated — where an entry is treated in more depth in another hub, that is noted.
CompTIA Security+ is famous for its long official acronym list: the exam objectives end with an acronym appendix you are expected to recognise on sight. This page is a comprehensive, categorised reference covering that list (and a few closely-adjacent terms). Each table gives the acronym, its expansion, and a one-line context in Security+ terms. Acronyms are expanded on first use throughout the hub; this page is the master list.

Where an acronym has more than one common expansion, the security-relevant meaning is given. Algorithm/standard facts are anchored to the NIST glossary and primary specifications — see Sources. Tip for a sysadmin: skim the Networking, protocols & ports and Security operations & monitoring tables first — most of that vocabulary you already know from administration; Security+ simply names and groups it.
